About Kelly
I'm a mom who has a knack for noticing empowered youth. The airborne dock-jumper? That's my son. He and his sister get a lot of press on this blog. "Pass the Torch" journals my attempt at raising my kids to become awesome adults.
I'm a professional speaker and writer, and founder of Empowering Youth, Inc. I publish research-based educational products, and regularly speak and write about Developmental Assets and empowerment.
And the photos on this blog are all mine, with the exception of periodic guest photography from my daughter. If you're interested in purchasing an image, please contact me.
Please visit my other sites or contact me for more information about products and services. If you'd like to donate a prize for our weekly Pass the Torch contest, please contact me.

just found your blog and am very impressed by what you are doing. I work in a middle school as as para educator (teacher assistant) in special education. This is my 20th year. Wish I could of gotten a college education so I could get paid for what I do, but conditions didn't allow that.
Anyway, I hope to learn more about the programs you have and hopefully can get our school involved in some of them.
Thanks for what you are doing for our kids.
